Rules and Regulations
Eligibility
- The International Photo Competition 2011 is open to both professionals and amateur photographers worldwide. Entries are not limited by nationality, race, age and/or gender. Committee members and advisors of the International Photo Competition 2010 are not eligible to enter.
- Both personal and professional information of the participant must be included in the application. A complete record of all digitally submitted images in the form of metadata must be included. For the professional category, the photographer’s professional status must be established by providing a reference (contact information for a person) or by attaching a scan (.jpg or .pdf) of a press card or other official documents, if they are not affiliated with any organization or agency.
- In order to enter the competition, participants must accept the IPC Rules and Regulations.
General Rules
- No payment is needed to enter the competition.
- Only single images produced/taken between January 01, 2010 and April 15, 2011 are eligible for submission in the 2011 International Photo Competition. All single images submitted should follow this requirement.
- Failure to comply with the requirements may result in disqualification.
- Images may only be submitted once. Images submitted more than once will NOT be accepted.
- Participants may submit both published and unpublished images.
- Images that have won or received awards from similar types of contests or competitions are NOT acceptable. However, images which have been entered in these types of competitions or contests are still eligible for submission.
- Submitted images must either be produced by the participant or the participant has the permission to submit the images on behalf of the copyright holder.
Image Specifications
- Digital images must meet the following specifications:
Images must be at maximum 5,000 pixels.
Images must be between 1,500 until 3,000 pixels- Image resolution must be at least 300 dpi or higher.
- Each image must be saved as a separate JPEG with the highest quality setting.
- An embedded ICC profile is required. AdobeRGB or sRGB is recommended for color images, Gamma 2.2 for black and white. No CMYK.
- All required image information, such as the title of image, creation date, location as well as the caption/description (5W+1H), must be included in the image file metadata.
- The original structure of a scan and/or camera file must not be altered by digital manipulation. Only changes made using conventional darkroom techniques are allowed.
- You may use digital manipulation to optimize an image but you are not permitted to add or remove key elements of the composition. Composite or montage images, from more than one original image, are not eligible. Prize winners may be required to produce the original image before the prize is awarded.
- The photograph must not, in the sole and unfettered discretion of the Sponsors, contain obscene, provocative, defamatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable or inappropriate content. When photographing the work of others, it must be as an object in its environment and not a full-frame close up of another person’s art.
- Images can be in color or monochrome. Minor burning, dodging and/or color correction are acceptable.
- Only single-frame images are acceptable. Composite and multiple exposure images will NOT be accepted. Images with added borders, backgrounds or other effects will NOT be accepted. Images must NOT show the name of a photographer, agency, or publication.
- Slides will not be accepted.
Submission of Entries
- All entries must be made online using the official Entry Form on the International Photo Competition (IPC) 2011 official website. All entries should be submitted/uploaded to the International Photo Competition (IPC) 2011 official website. Entries submitted by e-mail and physical mail (printed photograph and CD) will NOT be accepted.
- Images can only be uploaded as .jpg files.
- Each entrant may submit a maximum of 7 (seven) images.
- File names of the images must consist of a sequence number (1, 2, 3, etc.), category of entry, creation date (date-month-year), and title of image. For example, if you wish to submit 3 single images, then the file names format should be as follows:
- The 2011 International Photo Competition participants should not submit the photos later than the due date (the date will be informed later)
- All winners will be notified via email once the results of the contest are announced. Winners may be requested to submit material of reproduction quality for the 2011 International Photo Competition exhibition. Winners may be requested to agree on the third party release agreement.
- No entries will be returned. The 2011 International Photo Competition reserves the right to dispose of the material.
- The conditions set out in the Entry Rules and in the terms and conditions are compulsory.

Judging
- Entries will be judged based on the criteria set by the jury, which may include creativity, how well the image conveys a message, and/or any other criteria set by the jury.
- The decision of the juries is final. There will be no re-adjustment of the final decision due to discussion or correspondence with the participants or any other parties.
- The juries reserve the right to NOT present awards.
Winners List
- The 50 Best Photo Entries will be exhibited at BINUS International University at the JWC Building and at Public Place. These locations are all based in Jakarta, Indonesia.
- The 50 Best Photo Entries will be published on IPC 2011 official website once the 2011 International Photo Competition have received the results of the contest.
- Award winners will be announced on IPC 2011 official website and during the Grand Opening and Awarding Ceremony. Winners will also be informed via e-mail. Winners will be provided with relevant information related to the event. Winning images will be published on IPC 2011 official website and exhibited.
- There are 4 (four) award categories. The categories are:
- Winners in the Student category are required to submit a letter from their academic institution (e.g.: university and school) or provide legal proof to confirm their status as a student.
